Chikankari embroidery
Chikankari embroidery is a traditional style of embroidery that originated in Lucknow, India. It involves delicate and intricate white-on-white embroidery on fine cotton or muslin fabric. The embroidery is done with a needle and thread, creating a variety of floral and paisley motifs, and sometimes incorporating silver or gold thread. Chikankari embroidery is often used to embellish saris, kurtas, dupattas, and other traditional Indian garments. The art of chikankari embroidery has been passed down through generations of artisans and is still popular today, both in India and abroad.
