Kota doria
Kota doria weave is one-of-a-kind cotton and silk combination in a square check design. The silk adds lustre to the cloth, while the cotton adds strength. Kota Doria gets its name from its birthplace in Rajasthan, India.
The checkered pattern is known as 'khat' and is one of the Kota Doria fabric's identifying features. Kota Doria has a delicate weave and it weighs very little. The Rajasthani royal family favoured this cloth because it emanated easy elegance and charm. Even though Indian silks and fabrics such as khadi are the most popular in the world, Kota fabric is right behind them in terms of popularity in fashion.
